Charity Tandem Skydive with Epilepsy Research UK
Epilepsy Research UK (ERUK) is the only UK charity exclusively dedicated to driving and enabling national programmes of life changing, life saving epilepsy research. Their mission is to drive investment into research, inspire collaboration across clinical, scientific and academic disciplines, and transform the lives of people living with epilepsy and their families and carers. Their research is funded after rigorous scrutiny of grant applications in a multi-stage process that involves experts on our Scientific Advisory Committee, independent expert opinion, peer review and interviews. Each year the charity funds new research projects at universities and hospitals around the UK, the impact of their work is global.
Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions in the world and there are over 600,000 people in the UK with a known diagnosis of epilepsy: that’s about 1 in 103 people. In 65% of cases there is no known cause and shockingly, there are 21 epilepsy related deaths every week.
ERUK research is entirely funded from voluntary donations so they are hugely grateful to everyone who jumps in aid of their research. A life free from epilepsy is possible, it all starts by investing in epilepsy research.
